Open House to Feature Summer Ed Abroad Programs

Are you thinking about studying abroad this summer? A number of Penn State Liberal Arts faculty members lead summer study abroad programs, which are great short-term opportunities to gain international experience.  Learn more about the various summer ed abroad programs and talk with the faculty leaders during an informal open house event on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at 6:00 p.m.  The open house will take place in the lobby of Sparks building, followed by a student panel at 7:00 p.m. in 124 Sparks.

The study abroad programs represented include:

• Allihies: Representing the Irish Landscape, Literature and Visual Arts
• Cairo: Study Tour of Egypt
• Florence: Ancient and Medieval History
• London: Literary London
• Reggio Calabria, Italy: Language and Culture
• Rome: Study Tour of Roman History and Archaeology
• Salvador, Brazil: Culture, Business and Language
• Tel Akko, Israel: Excavation, Survey and GIS, Conservation/Public Archaeology, Archaeological Sciences and Underwater Archaeology
• Todi: Italian Language, Art History, and Visual Arts

The panel discussion will feature Liberal Arts students who have participated in various study abroad programs.  You'll be able to hear about their experiences and ask them questions about program selection, applications, and their experiences abroad.

As a reminder, application deadlines for study abroad are:

• Academic Year 2013-2014: January 20, 2013
