The speaker for the Friday, January 27 colloquium is Dr. Dennis Stanford from the National Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institute. The title of his talk is "Ancient Voyagers to a New World."

Research conducted by members of the
laboratory of David Kingsley at Stanford, including Penn State Anthropology's
Phil Reno, on the loss of penile spines and the evolution of large human brains
was voted as one of the top ten Science Now stories for 2011. For the
